NEM-ID

NemID, also known as self-service on the internet, is a secure login used in Denmark. It is used when you are doing your online banking, confirming transactions or finding out information from the public authorities.

When you get a NemID, you receive a code card with codes which work as the confirmation of your transactions/orders. You do not need to carry the code card on you all the time because you have the option of using CodeApp on your phone, where you can confirm your transactions and logins quickly and easily.

In order to obtain NemID, you need to:

- Have danish CPR number

- Be older than 15

- Meet the ID requirements → you have a valid passport or Danish drivers license

As an international, you are allowed to obtain a NemID if you have the residence permit.

Please notice: If you want to obtain a new NemID Code Card as an international student, you cannot order it online if you do not have either Danish passport or Danish driver's license. You need to show up to Borgerservice with someone who has an active NemID for at least 3 months as a witness of the legal case.
