BANK ACCOUNTS
In order to open a bank account at one of the banks in Odense, you need to bring your yellow card and your passport. Remember to inform the bank if you wish to receive information from the bank in English.
In Denmark there is also something called NemKonto (easy account). A NemKonto is an account that the public authorities can use to pay money into. When you open a bank account in Denmark, one of your accounts will automatically become your NemKonto.

When setting up a bank account you will also receive a Dankort. A Dankort is a debit card that is linked to your bank account and that can only be used in Denmark. It is also possible to get a Visa/Dankort that can be used as a credit card when you are travelling internationally. It is not necessary to have a Dankort, but it is used widely throughout Denmark. Danske Bank
General information:
- At Danske Bank there is an account package for students and young adults.
- They offer for adults aged 18-27 years and students under 32 years of age
- Salary and budget accounts
- At least one card
- Plain and simple advisory services
- If you are aged between 18 and 27 years, or you are under 32 and studying, you can get two accounts and one or two cards without having to pay any fees through our offer for young adults and students.
- You can get a payment card such as Visa/Dankort or Mastercard Direct for your salary account. Usually It takes up to 2 weeks to receive a payment card and in about a week or two you will get pin code for the card separately.
